SELECTION OF INSTITUTION
- Assess the academic credentials, college preferences, and special needs (academic, cultural, geographical, ethnic) of the student and the financial considerations of the family
- Identify specific colleges that best match the student's individual background and interests
- Discuss recommendations with student and family; provide printed personalized details on selected schools
COLLEGE PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE
- Counsel about college admissions tests; what to take, when to take
- Prepare student for personal interviews and college tours
- Essay preparation - identify appropriate topic for college essay, brainstorm, critique, and edit
- Establish timetable for meeting requirements of regular application deadlines, early action, and early decision
SPECIAL SERVICES
- Personal attention – clients have unlimited access via phone calls or office appointments
- Appointments available after school and evenings
- Unbiased advice and recommendations
- Assessment of student's potential
- Advise on high school course selection
- Counsel student and parent(s) working through the athletic recruitment process
- Counsel student and parent(s) on fine arts, dance, or music application
- Post-placement follow-up the summer following graduation and during first college semester
- Help parent(s) deal with separation anxiety
